I went to ARKET yesterday, and the Fall collection is slowly coming in. And when I entered the store, I was not alone: I was with all of you, on a mission to spot the best pieces. I always love the Fall collection because the colors are deep and interesting, and the options for layering are great. If you order online, the code HELLO15 gives you 15% off (I know it works because I just used it to order this). Some of the styles I tried on are not yet available online, so I’d recommend paying a visit to your local store (and have a drink and pastries at the café) or keep refreshing that New In page.
Coucou, c’est moi. What I wore on July 31st. Socks, loafers, a car coat over a tank top, and a cashmere sweater around my waist. The weather felt like a September weather, and put me in the mood for this new collection try-on.
A basket full of great finds. I’m showing you only what I’d buy and recommend 100%.
My favourite thing. This is a nylon parka in the most beautiful wine/eggplant/plum color. I tried it on in S, and I just ordered it in XS online (with the code HELLO15). It’s a zip + snaps closure, you can tuck and hide the hood, big pockets, and just a great length. A great outer layer. I’m not an umbrella person, so this is a problem-solver for me. Truly impressed by the design and details. Try it!
Not online yet in this beige, this is a stunning rich and bright color. eep an eye on the website, and you can find it here in green. It’s a cotton jacket shell layer, designed to work with a down liner if you need more warmth (the 2-in-1 system). This is a problem solver because it’s a playground-friendly jacket (moms will know what I mean). I love the collar (barn jacket vibes) for visual interest and added warmth and protection. The sleeves have 2 options at the wrist, and we love options. Tried it on in XS. I love that when the jacket is closed, you don’t see the front buttons anymore. Sleek. Ref. 1299864 001, 179€/159£
Speaking of green… Wow! Here is the cotton coat (in XS), also working as a shell layer if you want to wear it with the matching down liner. The green is rich, deep, and beautiful. Not a khaki army kind of green, more like a deep forest green. I always wanted a long green coat… Such a practical color, let’s be honest. This is not online yet, but I’ll add the link when it is, and in the meantime, just keep refreshing the ‘new arrivals’ page. 199€ / 189£ (ref. 1293136 001)
Double-zip nylon skirt. This sounds like Tibi, I know. It’s a skirt for people who wear pants. So much ease here (and pockets). This is great if you love black but want texture and interest. I don’t looooove it on my frame, I’m 5’3, and I tried on XS, it was perfect at the waistline though. I would style it absolutely differently (no loafers, maybe leopard ballet flats and black sheer socks?) It can add modernity and a sporty element while being chill, and style it for what it is: a black skirt. Don’t overthink it!
Not online yet, but worth a mention. A great 39€/35£ white tee, I loved the ease, the weight, and the cuffs. So practical, easy to roll up your sleeves, just a great blank canvas to play with, under this stunning suede jacket, for example (Ref. 1302231 001)
So, you see, I think it’s totally worth going in stores and trying things on… because you notice details you just can’t see online, you get to touch the things and see the colors with your own eyes… and this aubergine parka, I would never have bought it online in the first place, but trying it on and realizing how amazing the design is and how it made me feel so relaxed while solving the rain problem for me, this is exciting. Something to look forward to.
Oh, and this finally arrived yesterday. It’s for you, especially if your shipping address is in the US. The Substack pants for Substackers:
If you’re in the US or Canada and you feel frustrated after this ARKET edit… I have just the thing, something to look forward to. I discovered those pants via Substack (Hi, Sogole), got them in size 2 petite, and they are just the perfect thing to wear when “Substacking From Home” (but I will also wear them to travel, run errands, and go to the playground). Wearing them as I type this. Pants from Ruti (WELCOME15 for a discount). Metallic ballet flats here (true to size).
Let me know which piece you love the most — and I hope this whole thing was useful.
YESS, so excited to bring back layering and outerwear. It's only a matter of time
Finally a fall post! The burgundy jacket and stripe shirt are sooooo good
