Creating new habits and a new attitude

bookmark this! your 40-day global meditation challenge inside

I hope you’re well, and that you feel inspired to join a global movement…

My intention is to participate in a global meditation movement and invite you to do so. So many women and men are already practicing it every day and we can amplify that frequency of deep healing by riding this wave!

It’s a 5-minute meditation to demagnetize negative thoughtforms and create new habits and a new attitude — to be practiced every day for 40 days. You will practice in your own time, whenever you can, and here are 2 ways to keep yourself accountable:

Day One > One Day!

“In your life, first you create habits, then habits create you. And today is a day when you can create a habit of meditation. Then meditation will make you intuitive, and intuition will solve your problems.” Yogi Bhajan

Your subconscious mind is responsible for 95% of what’s happening in your life — your attitude is made of your thoughts, feelings, and actions, and the subconscious mind speaks the language of… emotions. Knowing that each thought has a positive and negative pole, we can consciously choose to meditate to balance out our attitude, clear the subconscious mind, and magnetize positive thoughtforms that are beneficial and creative to our life (vs. destructive and detrimental).

By creating a habit of daily meditation, you are already creating the mold of a better day, and shaping your future toward your best life.

“Intuition will solve your problems”, and sure enough, the unknown factor represents 70% of your life. And intuition is one of the six faculties of the mind human beings have been given to navigate this incarnation, so… let’s meditate more, shall we?

“You must be psychologically, logically, and personally prepared and train your brain so that you have the answers. You do not have claws, horns, or a special cloak. You need to defend yourself. What has God given you to defend yourself? Intuition.” Yogi Bhajan

Do this today: the Habits Scorecard exercise

As we begin this journey of 40 days together, I highly encourage you to do this honest exercise given by James Clear in Atomic Habits. It’s called the Habits Scorecard, and this way you can assess which habits are serving you (uplifting your energy), which habits are kinda neutral (and good to keep), and which habits are not serving you (depleting your energy). It’s a self-assessment, an inventory of what you are already doing, and that can serve as a base to build new habits. Put simply, it’s a list of your daily habits, an inventory.

This is the greatest gift you can give yourself today. Trust me.

I’d be really interested for you to do this same exact exercise after 40 days of this daily meditation. Who’s in?

Do this tomorrow, for 40 days: Meditation for Healing Addiction

Notes:

This exercise is also called the Addiction Meditation and Medical Meditation for Habituation or Kundalini Meditation to Break Bad Habits and Addictions.

A full write-up of the meditation is available here with original comments and the technology behind it.

Tune In: Bring your palms together at your heart center, and tune in:

TUNE IN MANTRA: ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO (3x)

MANTRA FOR PROTECTION: AAD GURAY NAMEH, JUGAAD GURAY NAMEH, SAT GURAY NAMEH, SIRI GURU DAYVAY NAMEH (3x)

Posture:

Sit in easy pose, spine is straight, chin slightly in. With both hands, curl your fingers into the pads of your hands (the fingertips are resting on top of the pads at the base of each finger). Leave your thumbs extended, and place them on your temples (find the niche where the thumbs just fit).

Breath and mantra:

Breath normally in and out through the nose. Mentally repeat the sounds Saa - Taa - Naa - Maa, on each sound, press your back molars together. Lock the back molars together, and keep the lips closed. Keeping the teeth pressed together throughout, alternately squeeze the molars tightly and then release the pressure.

You should feel something move underneath your thumbs. You silently vibrate the sounds Saa - Taa - Naa - Maa at the brow point.

Time:

Set a timer for 5 minutes. Keep going for 5 to 7 minutes at first. With practice, the time can be increased to 11 minutes, 20 minutes, and ultimately 31 minutes. Keep going for at least 40 days.

Tune out: Sat Nam
